Building information modeling (BIM) is the creation of a 3D model of an object and filling it with the necessary data. BIM models are developed in special software based on drawings or a point cloud, and the result can be used by the Client to solve a wide range of business problems.
Building Information Modeling is an information modeling technology that allows displaying up-to-date data about a construction project at each stage of its life cycle (LC) for all project participants. BIM design, construction and operation of a building are stages of the LC of an object. The result of the work is an information or digital model that goes through all stages of the life cycle: from the idea of creating a building to its reconstruction or dismantling.
The BIM model contains data about the object required for the work of this stage. In this case, the information:
- coordinated, interconnected and agreed upon;
- available for analysis and calculations;
- has a geometric reference;
- interoperable;
- updated.
